(Makes approximately 30 cookies)
1 ¼ cup flour, plus extra for dusting
½ cup whole wheat flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 ½ tsp ground fresh ginger
2 tsp ground culinary lavender “Signature Blend”
6 Tbsp butter, softened
½ cup molasses
¼ cup sugar
1 large egg
2 Tbsp orange juice concentrate
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven 350 degrees.
1. Whisk flours, baking soda, and spices in a bowl, set aside.
2. Beat butter, molasses, and sugar with mixer until fluffy. Reduce speed, and add egg,
orange juice, and vanilla.
3. Gradually stir in flour mixture until combined. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic, and
refrigerate an hour or more.
4. Roll out dough on a floured surface, and cut as desired. Place on baking sheet, bake 7
or 8 minutes. Sprinkle with lavender sugar . Enjoy J.
*Lavender Sugar: 1 cup organic coarse granulated sugar, 1 Tbsp culinary lavender, “Signature Blend”. Finely grind in coffee grinder or spice grinder.
